about me
Always one to love well crafted and beautiful things, it was no coincidence that my studies lead
me to explore interior design. Upon graduating from the University of Memphis, I honed my
skills as a Design Assistant at Shea Design in Memphis, Tennessee. My time there allowed me
to wear many hats and enhance my skill sets in all facets of design. I collaborated on both
commercial and residential projects including the occasional vacation property.
My position also allowed me to regularly travel on buying trips and acquaint myself with various vendors across the mid-south. These trips helped me to familiarize myself with both the textile and furniture markets and allowed me to offer clients a larger variety of choices and unique goods.
In the summer of 2010 I felt that I needed to branch out on my own to better serve my growing client base and founded Laura Finley Interiors. Today, that business is now known as Houghton House Interiors. In addition to a full and busy work schedule I participate in several social and philanthropic organizations.
